Marzio Cecchi ‘Balestra’ Lounge chair, Italy 1968
Marzio Cecchi Balestra lounge chair for Studio Most, Italy 1968. Intriguing design constructed from a flat metal spring steel frame with cylinder-shaped cushions upholstered in their original suede. The cantilevered spring construction allows the chair to swing slightly, enhancing comfort. The frame is made up of two parts:The upper part starts at the top of the chair and runs down to the bottom back of the frame, the lower part begins at the front of the seat and curves gracefully to the back of the frame and then angles down to the floor where it connects with the longer section. A small seam, visible at the junction, highlights this detail. The frame also features stamped matching numbers. In very good original condition with a beautiful patina on the suede.
