Beautiful decorative bronze candleholder for one big candle by Manfred Bergmeister, Germany 1970s. This object shows excellent craftsmanship and many beautiful refined details. Bergmeister was working in the are of Münich. In 1946 Bergmeister completed an apprenticeship as a blacksmith with Karl Nowak at the Munich Trade Academy. Karl Nowak put him in contact with the legendary Munich art blacksmith Sixtus Schmid, where he passed his master's examination in 1954. In the same year he founded the Bergmeister art forge with his brother German Larasser. In 1968 Bergmeister was a founding member of the Munich Craft Academy. This object is in a very good condition since it has always been used as a decorative object.
