Large Art Populaire bowl, France ca. 1880

Large Monoxyle dough bowl, Auvergne - France 19th century. Very nice piece of 'art populair' a primitive object made by craftsmen to be used to assist in their work.
This particular bowl was made is made for kneading dough, so it have been the tool of a bakery or a family who made bread. It comes from the Auvergne, a region in the middle of France
The bowl has nice decorative engravings and a stunning patina. Very decorative piece which would be lovely as a very big fruit bowl on a table or kitchen counter.
