Marcel Gascoin Oak wooden ‘Trèfle’ Stool

Original early 'Trèfle' stool by Marcel Gascoin, France 1949. The design is a true icon of the French post war 'reconstruction' furniture: functional furniture, with simplified lines, without decoration in neutral and sober materials. The 'Trèfle' (clover) stool is a great example of Gascoin's functionalist furniture. The sleek lines makes an interesting contrast with the tilt placed organic shaped seating parts. The stool is made from solid French Oak and shows a beautiful subtle patina. In good solid condition.
