‘Djinn’ easy chair by Olivier Mourgue for Airborne
'Djinn' easy chair by Olivier Mourgue for Airborne international, France 1964-65. Made of a tubular steel frame with rubber singles, foam and woolen fabric. Mourgue takes a very important place in the world of modern French design. The sofa well known for it's appearance in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and is part of the collection of the Centre de Pompidou and the Moma in New York. All is redone within the original specifications with use of the highest quality foam and rubber. It's reupholstered in a rich woolen 'plushy' fabric. The chair stands on stainless steel slides to protect the chair and fabric. In excellent condition.
