Chaise Longue In Plywood and Bouclé by Marcel Breuer
Chaise Longue by Marcel Breuer for The Isokon Furniture Company, London 1970’s. This is a modification of his well know early work from his Bauhaus period. Breuer designed his chaise, and experimented with curved and moulded plywood. It was originally designed between 1935 /36 and produced without any cushion. From the late 60's the chaise was produced with a fully upholstered seat. This particular example is constructed out of a black lacquered curved plywood frame and is reupholstered in a rich 'Oyster' colored bouclé fabric by Dedar®. The materials stand out nicely, and accentuate the chair's elegant curved lines. Extremely comfortable chaise in an excellent condition.
