Ettore Sottsass ‘Lotto Rosso’ round Marble Table for Poltronova, Italy 1965
Exceptional ‘Lotto Rosso’ round pedestal dining table by Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova, Italy 1965. Rare first production. Very well balanced design composed out of a round white marble top with nice c-shaped edges, a black lacquered metal cylinder column and a fat white marble base on the bottom. Stunning contrast between shapes and dimensions; the thin looking top compared with the fat round base. These contrasts really points out the character of the other element. This makes it a very exciting and desirable object. In a very good original condition. Literature: Repertorio Del Design Italiano: 1950-2000, Gramigna, page 118
